Redmile railway station
Redmile railway station was in Redmile, Nottinghamshire, England, and served the villages of Redmile and Barkestone-le-Vale and Belvoir Castle. It was on the Great Northern and London and North Western Joint Railway. The station had two platforms and is now disused. It opened on 15 December 1879 and closed to passenger traffic on 10 September 1951.
After passenger services ended, the site remained in use for oil deliveries to Redmile Petroleum Storage Depot, built in the late 1930s and expanded. A pumping station was added in 1943 as part of the pipeline network. Texaco operated two tank farm sites with four 500-ton and four 800-ton tanks that could load oil by rail or road. Rail loading stopped in the 1980s, but the road loading gantry continued until the tanks were closed in the early 1990s, after the end of the Cold War.
