Fine Line is a 2005 song from Paul McCartney's album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. McCartney plays most of the instruments on the track. It was released on 29 August 2005 as the first UK single from the album. The song peaked at number 20 on the UK Singles Chart (McCartney's last solo top-20 in the UK as of 2019) and reached number 31 on the US Adult Contemporary chart. The cover art is a drawing by Brian Clarke. A live version appears on The Space Within US concert DVD (2006). Rolling Stone described the piano-guitar duel as "rollicking" in 2013. The B-sides were "Growing Up Falling Down" and "Comfort of Love." It was recorded in September 2004 at AIR Studios in London, runs 3:05, and was produced by Nigel Godrich and Paul McCartney.
