Rayshaun Hammonds
Rayshaun Hammonds is an American professional basketball player for the Suwon KT Sonicboom in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). He plays forward and center, is 6'9" tall and weighs 235 pounds. Born November 10, 1998, in Augusta, Georgia, he went to Norcross High School and played college basketball for Georgia from 2017 to 2020.
As a Georgia freshman, Hammonds averaged about 6.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 31 points against Illinois State in the Cayman Islands Classic on November 19, 2018. In his junior year he had several double-doubles and averaged 12.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, but a foot injury in 2019 ended his season. He declared for the 2020 NBA draft, stayed in the draft, and went undrafted.
Hammonds signed with the Indiana Pacers after the draft but was waived in December 2020. He then joined the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA G League in January 2021. His professional career since has included VEF Rīga (Latvia) in 2021–2022, BG Göttingen (Germany) in 2022–2023, Avtodor (Russia) in 2023–2024, and Suwon KT Sonicboom in 2024–25. In July 2024 he also joined Santeros de Aguada in the BSN.
His career honors include the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League Championship and the Latvian Cup in 2022, and the Latvian Basketball League title in 2022.
