Ray Harris
Ray Harris (September 7, 1927 – November 13, 2003) was an American rockabilly musician and songwriter from Tupelo, Mississippi. He formed a band with Wayne Powers and wrote songs like "Come On, Little Mama" and "Greenback Dollar, Watch and Chain." Harris recorded these songs at Sun Records with Sam Phillips and later produced artists at Hi Records. Although he was respected, he didn’t achieve big chart success, unlike some of his peers such as Sonny Burgess, Hayden Thompson, Billy Lee Riley, and Warren Smith. He died on November 13, 2003, in Mooreville, Mississippi, at age 76.
