Ravenor Nicholson
Ravenor Michael Nicholson (born 6 October 1943 in Berea, Durban) is a former South African cricketer who played first-class cricket for Natal. He was a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler.
In 20 first-class matches, Nicholson scored 514 runs at an average of 23.36, with a top score of 89 not out for Natal B against Transvaal B in December 1967. He also bowled 3,260 deliveries, taking 54 wickets at an average of 22.81, including two five-wicket hauls in an innings and one ten-wicket match, with best figures of 5/12.
His most notable performance with the ball came in the following match against Griqualand West, where he took five wickets in each innings, finishing with match figures of 10/63.
Nicholson is the cousin of Test cricketers Peter Pollock and Graeme Pollock. His brother Christopher played one first-class match for South African Universities in 1967. He was born in Durban, Natal.
