Shinji Inoue (baseball)
Shinji Inoue (born July 12, 1966) is a former Japanese professional baseball outfielder and coach. He played for the Yomiuri Giants in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) from 1985 to 1997, debuting on October 9, 1985, and making his last appearance on August 20, 1997. He batted and threw right-handed.
NPB career statistics (through 1998): batting average .253, 112 hits, 16 home runs, 60 RBIs, 5 stolen bases.
As a player, Inoue was a 1989 NPB All-Star and helped the Giants win Japan Series titles in 1989 and 1994. He later returned to the Giants as a coach, serving in 2001–2006, in 2016, and again from 2019 to 2020.
