Ralph Jones (musician)
Ralph Jones (February 28, 1921 – June 1, 2000) was an American drummer from Chester, Pennsylvania. He played jazz and rock and worked with Decca and Warner Bros. He is best known for playing with Bill Haley & His Comets from 1955 to 1960, becoming the band’s fifth drummer. He joined after an audition in November 1955, replacing Don Raymond, while he was working as a milkman. He played on many Haley hits for Decca, including See You Later, Alligator, and he was the first Comets drummer to play on a recording session. Jones appeared with the band in the 1950s films Rock Around the Clock, Don't Knock the Rock, and Here I Am, Here I Stay. In 2012, he and many of the 1950s-1960s Comets were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
