Réka Luca Jani
Réka Luca Jani (born 31 July 1991) is a Hungarian former professional tennis player. She won 25 singles titles and 34 doubles titles on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. Her best singles ranking was world No. 104, reached on 19 September 2022, and her best doubles ranking was No. 124, on 22 August 2016. She is 1.61 meters tall, plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand, turned pro in 2008, and retired in 2024. Her career prize money totals about $864,317.
Jani represented Hungary in the Billie Jean King Cup, compiling a win–loss record of 30–22 as of July 2024. Her preferred surface is clay. She was born in Siófok, Hungary, and lives in Sopron. Her parents are Janos and Szilvia; she has brothers Mate and Balint and a sister named Petra.
Notable career highlights include reaching the final of the 2016 Brasil Tennis Cup with Tímea Babos, and competing in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics as a doubles wildcard with Babos. She made her Grand Slam main-draw debut at the 2011 US Open. In 2021 she reached her first WTA Tour quarterfinal at the Serbia Open, returning her to the top 200. In 2022 she reached the doubles final at the Iași Open with Panna Udvardy and was a singles finalist at the Țiriac Foundation Trophy. She made the 2022 French Open main draw as a lucky loser and lost in the first round to Belinda Bencic. Jani announced her retirement in July 2024.
