Psyche of Eons
Psyche of Eons (Korean: 억겁의 싸이-키; RR: Oekgeobeui Ssaieki) is the debut studio album by South Korean progressive rock band Zeonpasa. It was released on September 30, 2021, and blends progressive rock with math rock. The album runs 67 minutes and 22 seconds and is released by Mirrorball Music.
Zeonpasa formed in 2019, with members from Apollo 18, Pakk, and Modsdive. Yoon Seonghoon described the band as light and fun, playing as they feel rather than overthinking.
The album was recorded as an improvised live jam.
Reception and awards:
- Jeonjainhyeong of Music Y named Psyche of Eons the top album of 2021, praising its energy and blend of genre techniques.
- Seong Woojin, a member of the Korean Music Awards selection committee, called the album unfamiliar at first but said it offers a satisfying mix of psychedelic rock, post-rock, and old-school rock sounds.
- It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Korean Music Awards, and the track The Lie (거짓말) was nominated for Best Rock Song.
