Pseudomonas alcaligenes
Pseudomonas alcaligenes is a Gram-negative, aerobic bacterium in the Pseudomonas family. It is used in bioremediation to help clean up pollution from oil, pesticides, and certain chemicals because it can break down polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. It can rarely cause infections in humans. Genetic analysis places it in the P. aeruginosa group.
