Pseudodaphnella aureotincta
Pseudodaphnella aureotincta is a small sea snail in the family Raphitomidae. It is a minor form of Pseudodaphnella tincta.
Shell description: The shell is elongated and spindle-shaped with swollen longitudinal ribs. The ribs are white and alternate with golden-yellow ribs. There is a broad golden-yellow band in the depression near the siphonal canal.
Distribution: This species occurs off New Caledonia.
Taxonomy and naming: It was first described by Hervier in 1897 as Clathurella tincta var. aureotincta (basionym) and is considered a minor form of Pseudodaphnella tincta (Reeve, 1846).
