Psalm 93
Psalm 93 is a short, simple song that celebrates God as King. It begins with a strong message: The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty. The psalm says God’s rule is powerful and permanent, and His throne is secure forever. Because of this, the whole world stands firm.
This psalm is one of the royal psalms, a group that praises God’s kingship (Psalms 93–99). In Hebrew Bible numbering it is Psalm 93; in the Greek and Latin versions it’s called Psalm 92. It is commonly used in Jewish and Christian worship and has been set to music many times.
In Jewish tradition, Psalm 93 is connected with Friday and the approach of Shabbat, and it is often read or sung in Friday prayers and in related liturgies. In Christian worship, it has inspired numerous musical settings and hymns.
Overall, the main idea is that God alone is all-powerful king, and His reign will endure forever, no matter what human rulers do.
