Project Hope (Singapore)
Project Hope is a Singapore-based charity show by Mediacorp, aired on its TV channels. It raises money for the needy and for victims of natural disasters in the ASEAN region. Celebrities from TV, film, and music regularly perform to encourage donations. Mediacorp covers all production costs. The first event, on 19 October 2009, raised S$1.2 million. A second event on 19 November 2010 raised S$641,000 and was shown on Channel NewsAsia International. The theme song, "With Hands United," was written by Mayuni Omar, Sharmila Melissa Yogalingam, and Mathilda D'Silva, a Singapore Idol contestant, and was nominated for the 2011 Pesta Perdana Awards for Best Theme Song.
