Maghreb highway, طريق السيارة المغاربية, is a road network that runs through the Maghreb in North Africa, connecting Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. It has two main routes: an Atlantic main road from Nouakchott to Rabat, and a Mediterranean main road from Rabat to Tripoli. In Algeria, the Trans-Saharan Expressway stretches 1,216 kilometers from the Moroccan border to the Tunisian border, passing through Tlemcen, Oran, Chlef, Algiers, Sétif, Constantine, Annaba and 16 other wilayas. The Algerian border-to-Tunis segment is about 207 km, and the Tunis-to-Libyan border segment is about 573 km. The Libyan portion will be built in partnership with Italy.
