Popstars (German TV series)
Popstars is a German reality TV series that helps form pop groups. It began in 2000 and ran for 11 seasons, ending in 2015.
What the show is about
- Contestants aged 16 or older audition to join a new pop group.
- They live together during the show, training in singing and dancing.
- They perform in live shows and are judged on vocal ability and stage presence.
- The winning group gets a record deal and promotion.

Production and history
- The show was produced by Cheyenne Media, with Cheyenne Records releasing music for many winners.
- It aired on RTL II for the early seasons and later on ProSieben for seasons 3–10; the final season aired in 2015. The series is part of the international Popstars franchise.
