Poozhithodu Weir
Poozhithodu Weir is a small dam in Kozhikode district, Kerala, built on the Kadanthrapuzha river as a run‑of‑the‑river project using water from Illiani puzha and Kadanthrapuzha. The 6‑meter‑high, 57‑meter‑long concrete gravity dam diverts water into a 790‑meter channel to a forebay tank, then through a 125‑meter‑long penstock to the Poozhithode Power Station. The plant has a capacity of 4.8 MW and annual generation of about 10.97 million units. Construction began in 2009 and was completed in 2011, and the project is located about 61 km from Kozhikode near Perambra town.
