Pink Skies Ahead is a 2020 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Kelly Oxford in her directorial debut. The story follows Winona, a young woman living in 1998 Los Angeles who has dropped out of college and works as her father’s secretary. Her relationship with her parents is tense, and she relies on her best friends Addie and Stephanie, along with her boyfriend Frank.

Winona meets Ben, which brings new hopes but also new pressures. She begins experiencing anxiety and panic attacks, visits a pediatrician who suspects anxiety and recommends therapy, and continues with sessions with Dr. Monroe. As her parents decide to downsize and ask her to move out, Winona tries to become more independent while dealing with ongoing panic attacks and awkward moments with Ben and his circle.

With support from her parents, therapy, and her friends, Winona starts to regain control and plans to return to college. The film also features a cast that includes Jessica Barden, Marcia Gay Harden, Michael McKean, Rosa Salazar, Lewis Pullman, Devon Bostick, Odeya Rush, Evan Ross, Henry Winkler, and Mary J. Blige.

Pink Skies Ahead world premiered at AFI Fest on October 18, 2020, and was released in the United States on May 8, 2021 by MTV Entertainment Studios. It runs 94 minutes and had a budget of about $2 million.
