Pets of Imran Khan

Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, keeps several pet dogs at his 35-acre farmhouse in Bani Gala, Islamabad. His five dogs are named Sheru, Sherni, Motu, Pidu, and Maximus. Sheru and Sherni have died, while Motu, Pidu and Maximus are alive.

Besides the dogs, Khan raises chickens, water buffalo and cows on his property to produce organic milk, meat and eggs for his household. The dogs are part of his daily routine: he walks them after breakfast and they accompany him for outdoor activities, including partridge hunting.

Public interest in his dogs has been high, with some opponents criticizing him for keeping pets inside his house. Khan has responded by recalling Sheru’s loyalty and saying the dogs are part of his life.

Names carry meanings: Sheru means tiger, Sherni means lioness, Motu means fatty, and Pidu means tiny. Maximus is a Belgian Shepherd. Reham Khan and other writers have mentioned Khan’s dogs in their books, and there have been occasional rumors about the dogs’ living arrangements, which Khan has denied.

Khan has also spoken about his love for outdoor life and keeping animals around his home, including comments on the free-range approach to the family’s eggs and meat.
