Petras Karla
Petras Karla (9 April 1937 – 14 October 1969) was a Lithuanian rower who competed for the Soviet Union. He specialized in the eight, the boat with eight rowers. He won three silver medals at European and World Championships between 1962 and 1964. He finished fifth in the eight at the 1964 Summer Olympics. He was born in Didžiasalis, Vilnius, Lithuania, and died in Vilnius, then part of the Soviet Union. In 1962 he graduated from Vilnius University's Physics Department.
