Perseus Karlström
Perseus Karlström (born 2 May 1990) is a Swedish racewalker who mainly competes in the 20-kilometre event and also races at longer distances. He was born in Stora Sundby, Eskilstuna, Sweden, and is 1.84 meters tall, weighing about 73 kilograms.
Karlström has represented Sweden at several major championships. He competed in the 20 km walk at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics, the 20 km event at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing (where he did not finish), and won a bronze medal in the 20 km at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha. He also took part in the 2023 World Championships in Budapest (20 km) and the 2022 World Championships in Eugene (20 km and 35 km). In European Championships, he competed in Munich in 2022 (20 km) and in Rome in 2024 (20 km).
He comes from a family of racewalkers: he is the son of international racewalker Siv Gustavsson, and his brother Ato Ibáñez also represents Sweden in the sport.
