James Carleton (field hockey)
James Carleton (born 18 January 2005) is an English field hockey goalkeeper who plays for the England men's national team. He studied economics at the University of Exeter and plays club hockey for University of Exeter Hockey Club in the Men's England Hockey League.
Career highlights
- England youth: debuted for England U16 against Wales in 2021, then also played at U17 and U19 in the same year.
- Competed in the 4 Nations Invitational Tournament in Düsseldorf.
- Made his senior indoor England debut on 1 June 2024.
- Won gold with Great Britain U21 at the 2024 Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia.
- While at Exeter, named in the Great Britain development squad and made his full senior debut in the Men's FIH Pro League.
- Part of England's team for the 2025 Men's EuroHockey Championship in Mönchengladbach, where England finished sixth.
