Pentalenic acid synthase
Pentalenic acid synthase is an enzyme in the cytochrome P450 family. Its EC number is 1.14.15.11, and it is also known as CYP105D7 or the sav7469 gene product. The systematic name is 1-deoxypentalenate, reduced ferredoxin:O2 oxidoreductase. It catalyzes an oxidation step in the biosynthesis of pentalenic acid, using reduced ferredoxin and oxygen. This enzyme is a heme-thiolate protein (P450).
