Pelecyphora zilziana is a small cactus native to Mexico, specifically the state of Coahuila. It usually grows alone, but sometimes starts from the base.

Description
The plant has cylindrical stems about 6–10 cm tall and 3 cm in diameter. It has wart-like bumps up to 10 mm long. Central spines are usually absent, though a few may resemble marginal spines. There are 16–22 straight marginal spines along the stem, up to 1.5 cm long. The flowers are light yellow, olive green or whitish with pink central stripes; they are about 3 cm long and 2.5 cm across. The red, club-shaped fruits are about 2 cm long.

Habitat
It is found in the Mexican state of Coahuila.

Taxonomy
The species was first described in 1930 as Coryphantha zilziana by Friedrich Bödeker, named in honor of Juljan Zilz. In 1961, Curt Backeberg placed it in the genus Escobaria. In 2022, David Aquino and Daniel Sánchez moved it to Pelecyphora based on phylogenetic studies. It has also been known as Neobesseya zilziana and Escobaria zilziana.
