Peel Session 2 is Autechre’s second John Peel session. The duo recorded the material on 9 August 1999 and it was broadcast on 8 September 1999. Warp Records released a 29-minute EP of the session at the end of 2000. The cover art, designed by The Designers Republic, features matte white lettering on a glossy white background with a matte white border; Autechre is shown in black in the top left corner and the title Peel Session 2 appears below in white. Most tracks were unnamed when given to John Peel; he named them himself. All tracks were written by Sean Booth and Rob Brown. In Autechre’s discography, Peel Session 2 sits after Splitrmx12 (1999) and before Confield (2001).
