Pedro Spajari
Pedro Henrique Silva Spajari (born February 18, 1997) is a Brazilian freestyle swimmer who competes for the Pinheiros club. He has represented Brazil at the Pan Pacific Championships, Pan American Games, World Championships, the Olympics, and other major events.
- 2015 World Junior Championships (Singapore): 5th in the 100 m freestyle and 4th in the 4×100 m freestyle relay.
- 2016: Diagnosed with Klinefelter syndrome, which lowers testosterone and can affect focus and immunity. The condition impacted his performance and his dream of competing in the Rio 2016 Olympics, but he began hormone replacement treatment with medical approval.
- 2017 Summer Universiade: 6th in the 100 m freestyle, 5th in the 4×100 m medley relay, and 6th in the 4×100 m freestyle relay.
- 2018 Pan Pacific Championships (Tokyo): Gold in the Men’s 4×100 m freestyle relay; also placed 4th in the 4×100 m medley relay, 6th in the 50 m freestyle, and 7th in the 100 m freestyle.
- 2019 World Aquatics Championships (Gwangju): 6th in the Men’s 4×100 m freestyle relay.
- 2019 Pan American Games (Lima): Gold in the Men’s 4×100 m freestyle relay (team set a Pan American Games record of 3:12.61); silver in the Mixed 4×100 m freestyle relay (swam in the heats); 5th in the 50 m freestyle.
- 2020 Summer Olympics (Tokyo, held in 2021): 8th in the Men’s 4×100 m freestyle relay and 25th in the Men’s 100 m freestyle.
- 2022 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m, Melbourne): 4th in the Men’s 4×100 m freestyle relay; 8th in the Men’s 4×50 m freestyle relay and in the Mixed 4×50 m freestyle relay; 9th in the Men’s 4×200 m freestyle relay; 16th in the Men’s 100 m freestyle; 42nd in the Men’s 50 m freestyle.
