Paraswadi is a small village in the Dahanu taluka of Palghar district, Maharashtra, India. It sits about 24 meters above sea level. In 2011, the village had 1,399 people living in 241 households, and the effective literacy rate was 36.75%. Every year during the Dussehra festival, the Gondi people of Paraswadi hold a procession with an image of Ravana riding an elephant, claiming he was their ancestor-king.
