Paona Brajabasi, also known as Paonam Nawol Singh, was a military officer from Manipur. Born around 1833, he joined the Manipur Kingdom's army and rose to the rank of major by 1891. In 1891 he fought in the Anglo-Manipur War against the British. After a defeat in a skirmish at Khongjom, the British offered to spare his life if he joined their side, but Brajabasi refused and was executed on April 23, 1891.
