Pansey is a small countryside commune in northeastern France, in the Grand Est region. It’s in the Haute-Marne department, within the Saint-Dizier arrondissement and the Poissons canton. The town covers about 19 square kilometers and sits at elevations between 292 and 390 meters above sea level. As of 2023, about 86 people live there.

Pansey is part of the Bassin de Joinville en Champagne intercommunality, a group of local communities working together. The postal code is 52230 and the INSEE code is 52376. Its coordinates are 48°28′19″N, 5°17′18″E.

The village is governed by Mayor Philippe Delbé for the 2020–2026 term. The name was spelled Pancey before January 2011.
