Padmini Rout is an Indian chess player born on January 5, 1994, in Baramba, Odisha. She holds two main titles: International Master (IM), earned in 2015, and Woman Grandmaster (WGM), earned in 2010. Her peak rating was 2454 in March 2015, and her rating was 2352 in July 2025.

She has won the National Women's Premier Championship five times (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2023). She became the Asian Women's Champion in 2018 and the Commonwealth women's champion in 2015.

Rout has represented India in major team events, including the Women's Chess Olympiad and the Women's World Team Championship. She won an individual gold medal at the 2014 Women's Chess Olympiad on the reserve board.

She started playing chess at age 9, inspired by her father, Dr. Ashok Kumar Rout. She studied at D.A.V. Public School in Chandrasekharpur and earned a commerce degree from BJB College in Bhubaneswar. She married Jaikishin Mankani on January 28, 2024, in Bhubaneswar.
