Odostomia umbilicaris

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Odostomia umbilicaris is a tiny sea snail in the pyramid shell family. Its shell is white, very thin, transparent, and very glossy, about 2.5 mm long. It has five to six whorls with deep sutures. The umbilicus (navel) is small but clearly visible, and the columellar tooth is small but noticeable. Because the shell is transparent, each whorl edge looks like a narrow band around the one above it. Synonyms include Odostomia acuta var. umbilicaris and Odostomia (Odostomia) acuta acuta umbilicaris (f) Malm, 1863.
