Oaklawn Mile Stakes
Oaklawn Mile Stakes
The Oaklawn Mile Stakes is a Grade III Thoroughbred horse race at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is open to horses four years old and older and is run on dirt over one mile on a left-handed track. The weight carried is 124 pounds with allowances. The purse is $500,000 (since 2024).
The race is held every April. It began in 2019, with the first running on May 3, 2019, won by Exulting at 11-1 in 1:36.74. The event was created after Oaklawn added stakes races following an expansion funded by racino revenue. It has attracted top older horses, including Tom's d’Etat, the 2020 Grade I winner. In 2022, the American Graded Stakes Committee upgraded the race to Grade III status.
