Northside Hospital Atlanta
Northside Hospital Atlanta is the flagship hospital of the Northside Hospital System. It’s located in the Pill Hill area of Sandy Springs, Georgia, part of metro Atlanta.
The hospital opened on July 6, 1970, with 288 beds, 80 doctors, and about 400 employees. It is owned by the Hospital Authority of Fulton County. In 1999, the Women’s Center opened.
In 2018, Northside Atlanta expanded with the eight-story East Tower, adding 81 beds. The tower’s patient drop-off and pick-up area features a mural by Atlanta artist Ryan Coleman.
Today, Northside Hospital Atlanta has 621 beds and about 2,300 physicians, plus over 11,000 staff. It delivers the most babies of any hospital in the United States.
In 2023, it became the first hospital in the country to earn level IV verification from the Joint Commission’s Maternal Levels of Care program.
