Kostas Sakkas
Kostas Sakkas (born 1984 in Marousi, Greece) is a Greek anarchist who was arrested after weapons were found at a warehouse. He was charged with belonging to the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire and with aggravated possession of weapons. He was held for about two and a half years without trial and began a hunger strike on June 4, 2013 to protest his detention. Sakkas and the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire deny the charges. The case drew political attention: Syriza called for his release, while New Democracy criticized that stance. He was released at the end of 2025.
