Nitschkiaceae
Nitschkiaceae is a family of fungi in the Ascomycota, within the order Coronophorales. Most species live on dead wood as saprobes, feeding on decaying plant matter, but some grow on lichens. The type genus is Nitschkia, named in 1873 by G.H. Otth ex P. Karsten. The family name Nitschkiaceae was established by Nannfeldt in 1932. A 2021 review by Wijayawardene and colleagues lists the genera included in this family.
