Nipponanthemum nipponicum, also known as Nippon daisy or Montauk daisy, is a flowering shrub native to the coast of Japan. It is grown as an ornamental plant in many regions and has become naturalized along seashores in New York and New Jersey. It is the only species in the genus Nipponanthemum, which was once placed in Chrysanthemum.

Description: The plant grows up to about 1 meter (40 inches) tall. Most leaves cluster near the top of the stem. Each flower head is up to 8 cm (3 inches) across and usually appears singly. The ray flowers are white, and the disc flowers are usually yellow, though they can sometimes be red or purple.

Taxonomy note: It has been classified in different genera in the past, including Chrysanthemum nipponicum and Leucanthemum nipponicum.
