Nilakka
Nilakka is a large lake in Northern Savonia, Finland. It covers about 169 square kilometers, making it the 25th largest lake in the country. The lake is relatively shallow, with an average depth of about 4.9 meters and a maximum depth of about 21.7 meters. It sits at roughly 102 meters above sea level.
Nilakka has around 150 islands and a shoreline of about 1,358 kilometers. It is fed by the Säviänvirta River and drains through the Äyskoski rapids to Lake Iisvesi. The lake is connected by canals to upper Lake Pielavesi and to lower Lake Iisvesi.
The catchment area is part of the Kymijoki basin. The water volume is about 0.821 cubic kilometers. The lake stretches over more than 40 kilometers in length and up to about 10 kilometers in width.
