Nico Johnson
Nico Johnson is a former American football linebacker who played in the NFL. He was born on June 19, 1990, in Andalusia, Alabama, and went to Andalusia High School, where he was a standout recruit. A five-star prospect, he chose the University of Alabama to stay close to his mother and played for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2009 to 2012, helping the team win three national championships. He earned Freshman All-SEC honors in 2009.
Johnson was drafted in 2013 by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round (99th overall). He also played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2014, had time with the Washington Redskins’ practice squad in 2015, and joined the New York Giants later that year, where he eventually earned a spot on the active roster. He was waived by the Giants in April 2016 after a failed physical.
His NFL career totals include 22 tackles and 1 fumble recovery. He is listed at 6 feet 2 inches tall and 248 pounds.
