New Bern Historic District
New Bern Historic District is a national historic area in New Bern, Craven County, North Carolina. It covers about 250 acres and is roughly bounded by the Neuse and Trent Rivers and Queen Street, with extensions along N. Craven Street, Pasteur Street, Bern Street, West Street, Cedar Street, and Trent Court.
The district contains about 492 contributing buildings built from the early 1800s to the mid-1900s, showcasing Federal, Mid-19th Century Revival, and Late Victorian architecture. The Anne Green Lane House (built in 1805) is a notable example. Construction in the district ranges from 1790 to 1940. Architects such as A. Mitchell Wooten and John J. Rowland contributed to some of the buildings.
New Bern Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 19, 1973, with boundary increases in 2003 and 2016.
