The Netherlands sent 177 athletes (168 men and 9 women) to Paris to compete in 17 sports. They finished 9th in the medal table with 4 golds, 1 silver, and 5 bronzes (10 medals in total).

Highlights by sport

- Athletics: 19 Dutch athletes competed. The 4x100 metre relay team won bronze, the nation's first Olympic athletics medal.
- Boxing: 9 boxers took part. De Best reached the semifinals and finished fourth after losing the bronze medal bouts.
- Cycling: Three medals were won — Willems gold in the 50 kilometre race; Meijer silver in the sprint; Peeters and Bosch bronze in the tandem.
