Mulino State Airport
Mulino State Airport (FAA LID: 4S9) is a small public airport located in Mulino, Oregon, near Molalla, about 23 miles south of Portland. It’s accessible from Interstate 205 via Oregon Route 213. The airport is owned by the Oregon Department of Aviation (since July 1, 2009; previously it was owned by the Port of Portland since 1988). It’s also known as Mulino Airport or Portland-Mulino Airport.
Mulino covers 275 acres and sits at 260 feet above sea level. It has one asphalt runway, 14/32, measuring 3,425 by 100 feet.
The airport is classified as a general aviation facility in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems. It houses over 40 light general aviation aircraft, with 34 T-hangars and about 25 tie-down spots. It’s home to the Mulino Chapter of the Oregon Pilot Association.
In the year ending December 9, 2020, there were about 21,300 general aviation operations (roughly 58 per day). There were 61 aircraft based at Mulino: 57 single-engine, 2 multi-engine, and 2 gliders.
