Moses Little
Moses Little (1724–1798) was a Massachusetts military leader in the American Revolution. He was born May 8, 1724, in Newbury. He joined the Massachusetts militia and helped march to Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. He was promoted to colonel of the 12th Continental Regiment and led at Bunker Hill, the New York Campaign, and the battles of Trenton and Princeton. He retired from the Continental Army in 1777. Massachusetts offered him command of the Penobscot Expedition in 1779, but he declined. He suffered a stroke in 1781 and lost his speech. In 1784, Littleton, New Hampshire, was named in his honor. He died on May 27, 1798.
