Moloy Ghatak (born 1956 in Ukhra) is an Indian politician from West Bengal and a member of the All India Trinamool Congress. He has served as a cabinet minister in the West Bengal government, holding the Agriculture portfolio from 2012 to 2014, the Labour portfolio from 2014 to 2021, and the Law and Public Works portfolio from 2014 onward. He has been an MLA since 2011, representing Asansol Uttar, and earlier represented Hirapur from 2001 to 2006. Ghatak studied political science at Ananda Chandra College in Jalpaiguri and earned an LLB from the University of Calcutta in 1982. By profession he is an advocate, specializing in criminal law, practicing at the Asansol Court, and he is a third-generation lawyer. He played a key role in the creation of Paschim Bardhaman district, with its headquarters in Asansol. He is married to Sudeshna Ghatak and has a son, Avik Ghatak, and resides in Asansol (Apcar Garden).
