Miguel Cotto vs. Sadam Ali was a boxing match held on December 2, 2017, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The bout was for the WBO light middleweight title. Cotto, a 37-year-old legend who had announced his retirement after this year, wanted his last fight to be at MSG. He faced Sadam Ali, a Brooklyn challenger making his light middleweight debut.

Ali, the underdog, started strong with smart defense and sharp counters, while Cotto controlled much of the middle rounds with his jab and frequent punches. In the seventh round, Cotto injured his left bicep but continued fighting. Ali gained momentum in the later rounds, staying busy and landing power shots as the champion wore down.
