Meridian Water railway station
Meridian Water railway station
Meridian Water is on the Lea Valley Lines in Edmonton, in the London Borough of Enfield, north London. It opened on 3 June 2019, replacing the nearby Angel Road station. The station has three platforms (2–4) built; Platform 1 is not yet built but space is kept for future use. It sits about 580 metres south of Angel Road and is in fare zone 4. The station is expected to handle around 4 million passengers a year.
Access is via Meridian Way to the east (steps and lifts) and there is also a western entrance planned for the Meridian Water housing development. In August 2019, funding was approved for a fourth platform and a new track between Tottenham Hale and Meridian Water to allow up to eight trains per hour at peak times.
All services are operated by Greater Anglia using Class 720 trains. Off-peak, there are two trains per hour to and from Stratford, starting and finishing at Meridian Water. In peak times, additional services run, including trains to Hertford East and Bishop’s Stortford. There is no direct daily connection to Ponders End; passengers must change at Tottenham Hale.
London bus routes 192 and 341 serve the station directly, while routes 34, 444 and SL1 run along the nearby North Circular Road about 0.3 miles away.
