Mercy Wanjiru Gitahi (born 28 March 1993) is a Kenyan athlete who competes mainly in the steeplechase, including the 3000m and 5000m steeplechases. She is a member of the Kenya Defence Forces, based at Lanet Barracks.

In 2019 she won the Kenyan Athletics Championships in both the 3000m steeplechase (9:30.3) and the 5000m steeplechase (15:50.9), and she earned a silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase at the African Games in Rabat (9:37.53). She also finished second in the 5000m steeplechase at the Guldensporenmeeting in Belgium and placed fourth at the CISM Military World Games in Wuhan (9:39.58). In 2020 she won both steeplechase events at the Kenyan Championships in Kasarani (3000m: 10:02.8; 5000m: 15:59.8).

In May 2024 she won both Kenyan titles again: 3000m steeplechase in 9:45.08 and 5000m steeplechase in 15:36.20. In June 2024 she finished sixth at the African Championships in Douala (9:52.75), and she placed sixth in Kenya’s Olympic trials for the 3000m steeplechase with 9:57.37 for Paris 2024.
