Menace (Queen's Blade)

Menace is a fictional character from Hobby Japan’s Queen’s Blade franchise. She is the Ancient Princess of the desert kingdom Amara, inspired by ancient Egypt. After being betrayed and dying, she is resurrected by the Swamp Witch and vows to rebuild Amara. As a Bitōshi, or Beautiful Fighter, she competes in the Queen’s Blade Tournament, using charm and power to sway others to her cause.

Appearance and abilities: Menace has a striking, seductive look—short black hair, blue eyes, and an Egyptian-inspired outfit that includes a golden cobra headdress and a jeweled breastplate. She wears blue-and-white striped panties with a sheer front cloth, and bandages wrapped around her arms that can be used in attacks. Her magic lets her control people and create followers, and she wields a talking scepter named Setora. Her attacks often mix curses with martial arts, including moves like the Cursed Slap and the Royal Family Headbutt, with Setora helping to ensnare opponents.

Role in the series: Menace first appears in the 2009 Queen’s Blade anime as a foe who tries to turn Leina into a servant and then attacks others inside a pyramid. The pyramid collapses, and she declares her plan to resurrect Amara. In the sequel, Queen’s Blade 2, she returns to Gainos with Airi and Melona to sabotage the tournament and rebuild Amara, turning locals into servants before clashing with Claudette. She is later shown rebuilding a small version of Amara, though her plans conflict with the Swamp Witch. Menace also appears in the Queen’s Blade films and various side media, sometimes with cameos or minor roles.

Reception: Fans favor Menace for her bold design and seductive, manipulative personality. She’s a popular cosplay character and has been ranked among the franchise’s top waifus. Some promotional ads featuring her and other characters sparked mixed reactions for their provocative styling.
