Medal for Lifesaving (Ukraine)

What it is
- A Ukrainian medal awarded for saving a human life, acts of charity, humanitarian work, public health efforts, and accident prevention.
- Can be awarded to Ukrainian and foreign citizens.
- Established on 20 May 2008 by presidential decree No. 461.
- Status: Currently awarded.

Design and appearance
- Shape/material: Circular, silver, 32 mm in diameter.
- Obverse: Two gold-plated hands, one reaching to rescue the other, set against a sun with rays symbolizing a life saved.
- Edge inscription: За врятоване життя (Medal for Lifesaving).
- Ribbon: 45 mm long, 28 mm wide, white moire silk with two red stripes 3 mm wide, located 2 mm from each edge.
- Ribbon bar: Rectangular metal bar, 12 mm high and 24 mm wide, covered with the medal’s ribbon.

- Precedence: Higher than the Medal “For Labour Achievement” and lower than the “Defender of the Motherland” Medal.
