Man on Fire (2018 film)
Man on Fire is a 2018 American documentary directed by Joel Fendelman. It tells the story of Charles Moore, a Black anti-racist pastor in Grand Saline, Texas, who self-immolated in 2014 as a protest, and how his act affected his town. The film stars Ron Blanton and was produced by Joel Fendelman, Sullivan Rauzi, and James Chase Sanchez. Cinematography by Joel Fendelman and Caleb B. Kuntz; editing by Joel Fendelman; music by Gil Talmi. Running time is 54 minutes and the language is English.
Release dates: premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival on January 20, 2018, and was released on December 17, 2018.
Awards: David L. Wolper Award from the International Documentary Association; Best Student Award at the San Luis Obispo Film Festival; Feature Film Programmers Choice Award at the Sidewalk Film Festival. It was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at Slamdance.
