Macrobrachium scabriculum is a species of freshwater shrimp in the Palaemonidae family. It is found in the Indian Ocean region, including Kerala (India), East Africa, Madagascar, South Asia and Sumatra, and is commonly called the Goda River prawn. Males reach about 6.5 cm in length, while females grow to about 5 cm. Males have a tuft of hair-like structures on their chelipeds. The species lays small brownish eggs that are elliptical in shape; the hatched larvae migrate to water with lower salinity to complete their life cycle. Macrobrachium scabriculum lives in fresh and brackish water of larger rivers and streams. Its conservation status is Least Concern (IUCN). Synonyms include Palaemon scabriculus, Palaemon dolichodactylus, and Palaemon dubius.
