Reilly Opelka defeated John Isner 6–3, 7–6(9–7) in the final to win the 2022 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships singles title. It was Opelka’s fourth ATP singles title and his first on clay. The final was notable for its height, with Opelka at 6 ft 11 in and Isner at 6 ft 10 in, making it the tallest Open Era final. Isner, aged 36, was trying to become the oldest champion in the tournament’s Open Era. The defending champion from 2019, Cristian Garín, lost in the semifinals to Isner. The draw had 28 players, including 4 qualifiers and 3 wild cards, with 8 seeded players; the top four seeds received byes into the second round.
